Voting opened today for Australian Ethical’s Community Grants program, which has shortlisted 24 charities from 432 applications, a significant increase in applications from 2019, amid the high pressure the coronavirus has placed on the charitable sector.
Australian Ethical launched its 2020 Community Grants program in April, which offers grants of between $10,000 - $20,000 for not-for-profits and social enterprises making positive impacts. This year, the program provides critical support for Australia’s often-overlooked sector which has been dramatically impacted by the summer bushfires, coronavirus and now the recession.
Australian Ethical is committed to using money for good, and this program is a reminder of the importance for Australians to understand where their money is invested and the impact its having, to ensure we build societal and economic resilience during and following our current crisis.
